Magazine Cover Assignment

For my magazine assignment I had to design a magazine cover and I decided to create it in a style of a rock magazine and these are both of my final designs that I have came up with in the style of modern rock. Using the Magazine name Whiplash.

Experimental Photography

Experimenting with my own photo, I have created a Grid Effect Photo, and a Collage Effect Photo, this was really interesting to do, each photo has come out completely different to each other alto they were both the same picture.
I love the collage photo myself, as in a weird way the picture is looking back at you indirectly.

These are the initial sketches that I did to create my above Anti Fur Poster for my assignment.

I love using the wolf as they are usually the hunter, when in this poster the human is now the hunter and they are the prey.

Background Ideas  

These are the two experimental background designs that I produced and used for my album, I loved using these designs as they are really creative and inspiring. 

  

Vinyl Insert Design 

 I played around with the Vinyl Insert designs, as I wanted to experiment with different techniques.

Mix Media Portrait Design

This portrait design is based on WW1 Wilfred Owen, I used different techniques producing this picture, I really love the layered effect which we learnt at college using different medias.

This portrait is created by using the picture and cutting up the other half to create a new look, called the scattered effect.

This was my 1960s portrait of Twiggy, I love the pencil design that I used with the coloured paints to  achieve this 1960s hippy effect.

Initial Sketch Ideas Of The Zoo

 

Character planning the little girl from the story, I started to create how she looked like by drawing on what she would be wearing and I captured the girl facial features on how she would look like in the story.

For the animal planning I drew how I wanted the animal to look like for example the Hippo was one of my main animals in the story and once I drew the animal I planned the background and labeled the page layout to plan which colour I should use.

Other examples of Character Planning

This was my first sketch of the Zoo, it shows where I wanted to go with the creation of the Zoo and what I wanted the Zoo to look like, I wanted to capture the essence of the Zoo from one look at the book.

The character planning of the Zoo Keeper came together when I decided to add an additional hand movement where the Zoo keeper is waving at the reader of the book.

This is my self portrait that I did for an assignment, I loved working on this assignment everything in this portrait represented me at that time, it captures what I liked and what I did.
